Savannah Imani Wade
Bio
Savannah Imani Wade is a visual artist, performer, and arts educator from Washington, D.C., residing in Baltimore, Maryland with a BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art. Wade often collaborates with musicians and organizations who seek out vibrant and clear interpretations of their works. They have performed with Bread & Puppet Theater Company, Spoleto Festival, and Dixon Place. Savannah is additionally a member of Brooklyn-based dance collective, Afro Mosaic Soul. In youth art education and workshop facilitation, they center introspective and reflective making practices that ground and support a healing collective space.
Wade's personal work is an exploration of self, predominantly through the intersections of ancestral histories, archetypes of the Mother, and dream analysis that is materialized through dance, mask performance, painting, and illustrative storytelling. Wade centralizes color as symbolic language to create clarity amidst dense visual explorations.

To be committed to one's internal growth and healing. To remain soft and vulnerable as a courageous act. To confront the ways we have internalized oppressive systems. To educate oneself intentionally. To dance and create.
