SABETYE (Suh-Bet-Tea) is a local electronic musician and disc jockey in Detroit, MI. When performing, they position themselves as a 'Sonic Reverend', offering an experiential listening environment that provides an intentional space for healing and freedom.

What does liberation mean to you?

To be liberated is to be free from surveillance, to be free from carcerality, to be free from manipulation and half-truths. I believe liberation to be an embodied, affirmed state of being- not unlike how I feel when I’m entranced on the dance floor or being fed a lukewarm coney in the wee hours in the night at the afters. Liberation is an essential tool of freedom.
