Bio

Blackmoonchild is a versatile DJ and producer. As such, her eclectic range of musical selections and taste is what makes her mixes a unique listening experience. Her sound spans genres and influences, ranging from techno, house, garage, footwork, jungle, hip-hop, and more. Currently she is the co-resident DJ of Blueprint, a black femme led dance party that takes place bimonthly in Detroit.

What does liberation mean to you?

Liberation is freedom of expression. It means being free from whatever restrains you. Liberation also looks like community support and the ability to use art and music to positively impact our communities. Through music, we can heal and this is why freedom of expression is so important to me. It's the driving force behind my work with Blueprint because for me, liberation looks and feels like playing and making music. When I am behind the booth or working on tracks, and I have the attention of the crowd, I feel connected, at ease and free.
