Hi ya’ll. My name is KYRUH (all caps always). I am a rare native, New Yorker and I DJ like a mf. I’ve been indulgent in exploring my creativity. I know love is real because I’m full of it. I wear growth on me like it’s a fucking Prada bag. And when things don’t work out, I say the universe has some good shit in store for me. I play hard, gritty, and high caliber techno that makes you want to dance. I started out as a high energy raver, spending my nights clubbing alone letting my body sweat and writhe as I danced for hours and hours. It was my safe haven from traumas I was running from. Eventually, I thought I had a sound to contribute and have turned to DJing. I am known for my immersive performances and breakneck speed-mixing that can’t help but make a crowd put their phones down. My recent HÖR Berlin set demonstrates that lively, frenetic energy I try to bring to my performance (but I still love my ambient and funk sets too). Creating loving, intentional spaces where people can get out of their heads and into their bodies is the most addicting feeling in the world. My motto is to be the joy you wish to see in the world. I make regular rounds at BASEMENT, Elsewhere, and other clubs of the NYC circuit. With hardened textures and cathartic release, this is only the beginning …
